File Format 708 XML

All files uploaed to IDEA AnimInfo must be presented in an xml-format. A python-program converting the above described flat file format to the correct xml-format is available in the software-section of IDEA.

The xml file format used for additional info in AnimInfo contains one section, the animal section. The animals section consists of a sequence of nodes named "a" (short for animal), each representing an animal and containing the header id (for the AID), and a subnode starting with the type (here BULL_AI_STATUS) the following information pertains to, and the headers breed (for the breed of evaluation), country (for the country sending the information) and ai_status (bull semen commercial availability, Y/N).
