File Format 709 XML

All files uploaed to IDEA AnimInfo must be presented in an xml-format. A python-program converting the above described flat file format to the correct xml-format is available in the software-section of IDEA.

The xml file format is made up by one section representing the animal section. The animal section consists of a sequence of "a" nodes (short for animal), each containing the header id to report the animal's AID and a subnode reporting:

  • The TYPE of information (i.e. BULL_OB_STATUS)
  • The BREED
  • The COUNTRY (for the country sending the information)
  • The OB_STATUS (i.e. the bull's status as being original Braunvieh, accepted values Y/N).
